HOW TO TAKE ACTHAR GEL

Because Acthar Gel can be a self-injection, you have the flexibility to administer it whenever and wherever is right for you, per your doctor’s prescription. You can give yourself the injection or ask a care partner for assistance. Your doctor will give you instructions about when and how to take Acthar Gel injections for multiple sclerosis (MS) attacks.

Before injecting Acthar Gel, remember:

  • Refrigerate Acthar Gel as soon as you receive it and after every use, checking that your refrigerator is set between 36°F and 46°F or 2°C and 8°C
  • Acthar Gel can be administered subcutaneously (beneath the skin) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). Your doctor will advise you about how to inject Acthar Gel and the personalized dose to use
  • Never inject Acthar Gel directly into a vein, and always take Acthar Gel as prescribed by your doctor

  • Talk to your doctor about the potential side effects associated with Acthar Gel, including possible injection-site reactions
